Home / Our Tub Surround Process

How Your Surround Gets Rebuilt

Six steps, two to three days, one crew that cleans up after itself.

Here is exactly what happens between our first visit and your first shower. No mystery days, no disappearing crew, no 'we found something' without photos and a price before we touch it. This is the process behind every Farmington surround we sign.

  1. Free measure & fixed quote. We measure, check the tub and valves, and price in writing.
  2. Protect & tear out. Floors and fixtures covered; old surround stripped to studs, hauled away.
  3. Inspect & waterproof. Studs treated if needed; cement board, membrane, sealed corners — photographed.
  4. Set tile. Layout agreed with you first; flat walls, plumb corners, even joints.
  5. Grout, seal & caulk. Grout, penetrating sealer, and fresh silicone at every change of plane.
  6. Walkthrough. We inspect with you, punch-list on the spot, and leave care instructions.

Farmington notes

In Farmington steps 2–3 usually take day one and steps 4–5 take days two and three: Farmington sellers refresh the shower floor and re-grout the walls before listing — it reads as a renovated bath in photos for a fifth of the price. You can shower again 24 hours after grout — we will tell you the exact hour.

FAQ

Common questions

How soon can you start?

Typically measured this week, started within one to two weeks. Surrounds are short jobs so we fit them between larger bookings quickly.

When can I shower after grouting?

About 24 hours for standard grout, sooner for rapid-set. We'll give you the exact hour at walkthrough.

Do you haul away the debris?

Yes — tear-out, packaging and old fixtures leave with us. Your curb never sees our mess.

Will there be dust in my house?

Tear-out day makes dust; we hang barriers, run containment, and clean between phases. Setting and grouting days are quiet hand work.
